•
Aim-
All P6/7s are recognised as individuals and each and every
one of them has a sense of belonging.
•
Learning
– This takes place in a safe and
secure environment where each child has respect for the beliefs
and opinions of others
•
Responsibility
– The pupils are working hard to have ownership over their
learning, resources and materials
•
Choice
– This involves guiding the children and giving them the skills
to make informed choices (National Priority 5 – Learning for
Life)
Term 2
The Primary 6 and
7s have been extremely busy this term. They have been involved
in many sporting activities such as football, netball and
hockey. The Primary 7s attended a netball tournament in
December.
The children put
their enterprising skills to the test by working together to
design the layout for the new Waverly train station. Another
competition ran alongside the Waverly design which involved the
children setting up a company that would collaboratively design
a leaflet about Oxton. The children proved to be very
successful, becoming second prize winners. Well done P6/7.
The children have
had more success this term. They worked hard to compose and
create their very own Christmas Carol. The children performed
their song live on Radio Borders. We have true stars in the
making.
Towards the end
of term to the children were learning how to samba with Mr
Borthwick. The children performed to the whole school and to
parents. Mr Borthwick has chosen P6/7 to perform in Galashiels
during the summer term.
